WC DA waiting for more details on raid on JP Smith's office before commenting on matter

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town's Safety and Security mayoral committee member, JP Smith, says when he signed up for his current portfolio, he knew the risks that goes with it.
His comments come after his office, along with that of the MMC for Energy Xanthea Limberg, were raided by the SAPS commercial crimes unit.

In a statement, Smith alleges there's a political smear campaign against him.
Meanwhile, DA provincial leader Tertius Simmers confirmed the matter had reached the party's leadership and was being monitored.
"Details are limited. We will hold back a comprehensive statement until the facts, context, and details on the investigation are better known. However, we are aware that no arrests have been made, but we will monitor the situation closely and wait for further developments."
