CAPE TOWN - Three suspects linked to the murder of seven people in Bishop Lavis are expected to appear in court on Monday.

The trio, arrested on Friday, is facing multiple charges including seven counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

The suspects allegedly shot at eight people in a backyard dwelling at a house in Bishop Lavis on Thursday night.

Six people died on the scene while two others were injured and taken to hospital, where one of the survivors died a day later.

Police believe the attack was gang-related.

The incident follows a mass murder of five people at Atlantis in the same week.
