JOHANNESBURG - The woman killed, in what is being labelled as a hit, on a metro bus in Roodepoort on Wednesday morning was an employee at Nedbank.
The 40-year-old woman was shot and killed by a lone gunman who caught a metro bus at station six in Fleurhof, where the victim was waiting to board.
Patriotic Alliance (PA) deputy president Kenny Kunene said the murder was without a doubt premeditated, saying that she was targeted.
The lone gunmen entered a metro bus at station five on Wednesday morning and when the bus arrived at station six and the doors opened, his target was first in line to enter the bus.
Kunene said the victim was specifically targeted, with the shooter initially missing.
“They then fell on the ground when they were running away from the bus - the deceased and another lady. The shooter ignored the other lady and fired two shots at the deceased, and she lost her life there.”
Kunene said the woman’s husband revealed she was concerned about unfamiliar people at the bus station last week.
