The lawyer representing a Bulgarian national wanted by Interpol said he's confident his client will be released on bail.

In 2009, a Romanian court sentenced Stamenov in absentia to 16 years in prison for drug trafficking.
He appeared in the Wynberg Magistrates Court on Tuesday, where the matter was postponed to next Wednesday for a formal bail application.
Stamenov’s bid to secure his release was dismissed by the Wynberg Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
His lawyer, William Booth, had argued that his client’s arrest on an Interpol red notice was unlawful.
However, Booth said he remains confident about Stamenov’s chances when the bail application is heard next week.
"But I don't want to predict what the magistrate is going to find, but having done a few bail applications before, I know what the requirements are and I feel he fits fairly and squarely into the requirements that a court should look at for the release of a person."
The State has indicated that it will oppose bail.
