The City of Cape Town disaster risk team is set to complete an assessment to determine the number of people displaced by the recent Phumlani Village fire.
Fire and rescue services said they received reports of multiple structures engulfed in flames shortly before midday on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Jermaine Carelse has assured that the fire was completely contained as they seek to determine what caused the blaze.
"Initial estimates indicate that several dozen structures have been affected. The cause of the fire is unknown."
