Mitchells Plain residents have expressed mixed feelings about the deployment of the SANDF to the area on Wednesday.
About 200 SANDF troops were deployed to gang hotspots in Cape Town.
In Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain, one of the areas worst hit by gang violence in the province, the SANDF joined police in raiding suspected drug dens and gang strongholds.
A Tafelsig family was left furious after the SANDF, SAPS and metro police raided their home in Matopos Crescent.

The raid was part of the SANDF's deployment to gang hotspots in Cape Town.
A woman living at the premises who asked not to be named said the troops and officers raided the wrong house.
She added gangs like the prominent Americans gang are being allowed to operate freely while the rest of the community suffers.
