Richmond Municipality: Murdered former municipal manager Sibusiso Sithole was a dedicated public servant

The Richmond Local Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal has described its slain former municipal manager, Sibusiso Sithole, as a dedicated public servant.
Sithole was killed, allegedly for wanting to expose corruption in the municipality back in 2017.

His murder case is now nearing an end with Sabelo Phewa, the man convicted of his killing, set to be sentenced on Tuesday.
The municipality said while it awaits the sentencing, it will remember Sithole as a loyal public servant.
Richmond Local Municipality Mayor Melikhaya Ngcongo: "He diligently served Richmond with all his heart; he was so passionate about community development and somehow left a bold mark."
Ngcongo said Sithole executed his duties very well.
"Under his leadership, we had sound governance. Under his leadership, we had sound political and administration governance, as well as well stable financial management."
