CAPE TOWN - Judiciary monitoring group, Judges Matter, says it is waiting on the Judicial Service Commission to confirm whether High Court Judge Mushtak Parker would be found guilty of gross misconduct.
Parker was hauled before a Judicial Conduct Tribunal for allegedly lying under oath and being dishonest in his job application.
The judge allegedly lied about being assaulted by former Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe, before retracting his version a year later.

Parker also faces a charge of misconduct for not disclosing pertinent information in his job application to be a judge.
The tribunal found no evidence to dispute the complaints.
Judges Matter researcher, Mbekezeli Benjamin, said it was worrying that Parker had not countered the allegations against him.
"He's not given any explanation or shown any accountability or remorse."
Benjamin said that Parker faced impeachment should the Judicial Service Commission find him guilty.
"Therefore, it is now up to the Judicial Service Commission to confirm whether they also find Parker guilty of gross misconduct and that he should be removed from office through the process of impeachment."
