JOHANNESBURG - The South African Weather Service (SAWS) said that parts of the country would have a wet Christmas.
Isolated showers and thundershowers have been forecast for Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape for Christmas Day.
The weather service has also issued an alert for extremely hot conditions in the Western Cape, with a warning of possible veld fires.
Forecaster Samkelisiwe Thwala: "We're also expecting isolated showers to scattered showers and thundershowers for the east and central part of the country but scattered over the North West province. Sunny and dry conditions, with hot to very hot conditions, can be expected over the Cape provinces, where there is a possibility of high fire danger conditions."
