Gauteng police are searching for suspects linked to a shooting in Eldorado Park that left two people dead and six others wounded.

Authorities said that about eight unknown men entered a social gathering on Saturday night and opened fire randomly on attendees.

Paramedics declared two victims dead at the scene, while six others were taken to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds.

Police Spokesperson Brenda Muridili said that the suspects fled on foot.

"The police are searching for suspects after a shooting in Eldorado Park that left two people dead and six injured on 14 March 2026.  No arrests have been made yet. If anyone has information, they can contact the SAPS [South African Police Service].”

Meanwhile, Ward Councillor Dwain Ponsonby has called for stronger law enforcement, saying criminals are acting as if there are no consequences

"It's really time that law enforcement start doing what they have to do. The gunslingers are living as if there is no enforcement or law, or there is no consequences within our areas, and it seems like a thing that we are all okay with. We can never be okay with this.”
