American Airlines flight 2201 flying from Los Angeles to New York had to be diverted to Phoenix due to a bizarre emergency that was officially dubbed ‘medical needs of a customer.’
As shared on TikTok by a fellow passenger, Ethan Judelson, two girls spotted lice crawling on a woman’s hair during the flight - diverting the flight immediately as a 'biohazard' threat.
As he explained in his recap video which was shared to his TikTok profile and in an 'exclusive interview' with People.com — the video reached over 1.2 million TikTok views — Judelson says American Airlines shared minimal information about why they had to touch down well before reaching the East Coast.
"I look around, no one's on the ground, no one's freaking out. I'm like, it can't be that dire," he explained in his two-minute tell-all.
"But we land, and as soon as we land, this woman across the aisle from me shoots up and rushes to the front of the plane," the passenger said.
Passengers on the plane weren't told in detail about what was happening only that the flight was heading for an emergency landing to avoid worry.
Judelson says in hindsight this was a good choice by the aeroplane crew as they put the passengers safety first without creating a scene.
Friedman asks, is this another thing to worry about when we get on a plane?
