Evidence at the Madlanga Commission shows suspended MMC Kholofelo Morodi may have tried to subvert the recruitment process of new metro police officers by attempting to squeeze her preferred candidates through the back door.

It's emerged that the ActionSA councillor sent Gauteng cop sergeant Fannie Nkosi documents containing the list of names of people who had applied to become TMPD officers.

Nkosi forwarded the list to the TMPD deputy chief, Umashi Dlamini who he had a close relationship.

Sergeant Fannie Nkosi has emerged as the go-to middleman in Tshwane.

Businesspeople went through him to reach senior officials in the city.
Sometimes other employees at the metro also went through him to get favours from the higher-ups at the municipality.

Nkosi said that there was nothing untoward in MMC Kholofelo Morodi sending him a list of people who applied to join the TMPD.

“MMC Morodi did not give me this thing because there is someone she expected me to engage with so that they can influence those particular employments. Two, she did not give me those things because she was cutting her footprint and did not want people to know that. She’s also involved; she gave me out of her generosity, trying to help people in need.”
