In case you missed it, 'Ready Steady Cook South Africa' is bringing family, fun and food together on SABC next week.
Well-known chefs will team up with contestants to show off their quick-thinking and incredible food-making skills.
The show is produced by Rose and Oaks Media, together with Primedia Studios and sponsor Mr D.
Hosted my Moshe Ndiki, two teams – Team Red Tomato and Team Green Pepper – have just 20 minutes to put together three dishes using mystery ingredients that the contestants brought from home.
The line-up of chefs include Wandile Mabaso, Neo Nontso, Fehmida Osman-Latib, Kamini Pather, Kelly Njokweni, Liziwe Matloha, Lorna Maseko, Lufuno Sinthumule, Mmule Setati and Nthi Ramaboa.
At a sneak peek viewing, Rose and Oaks Media co-owner Frankie Du Toit shared that this is more than just a cooking show.
“This is the most entertaining show that you are about to watch… we have the Avengers of chefs. It’s not about how fancy you can cook, it's about bringing stuff from home from your pantry and putting them on the table.”

Chef Lorna Maseko says despite her experienced palette and vast knowledge across cuisines, nothing prepared her for this challenge.
“You never know what the contestants are going to bring to the table… you are just forced to think on your feet and take on the challenge.”

Chef Fehmida Osman-Latib commends her fellow chefs for their craft.
“I am not a professional chef and I find this hard… having to think on your feet is a skill because you have 20 minutes to put up a three course menu. And the ingredients these contestants bring? Wow.”
