Affidavit reveals that 2 accused identified Kelly Khumalo as mastermind behind Senzo Meyiwa's murder

JOHANNESBURG - An affidavit by the lead investigator in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has revealed that two of the accused confirmed to police that Kelly Khumalo was the mastermind who hired them to murder the Bafana Bafana captain. 
 
Brigadier Bongani Gininda has been testifying in the trial within a trial to determine the admissibility of confession statements by two of the accused. 
 
Five men are being tried for the 2014 murder of the football star at Khumalo’s home, who was his girlfriend at the time. 
 
Lawyer for two of the accused, Advocate Thulani Mngomezulu, requested that Gininda read one of his statements, which revealed the bombshell. 
 
"In this confession, he clearly implicates Ms Kelly Khumalo as the person who gave them the instruction to kill Senzo Meyiwa. The suspect further made a formal pointing out, pointing out the sing collection prior to the incident, the gathering outside of the house during the assassination and the dropping off of the accused at the cell phone tower referred to here in above."
