The Services Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) has confirmed that the crime-fighting unit, The Hawks, is investigating alleged corruption and maladministration in the services sector.
This has been confirmed by the authority’s administrator, Lehlohonolo Masoga.
The investigation follows allegations by three former employees who blew the whistle on incidents between 2017 and 2020.
The three employees were dismissed after revealing the alleged wrongdoing at the SETA.
Masoga said after reviewing their cases and the process that led to their dismissal, he found they were targeted and dismissed.
He says they will be compensated.
"We are currently working very closely with the SPS to provide whatever necessary information is at our disposal so that we enable them to do their investigation, and they have assured us that in the fullness of time appropriate action will be taken," said Masoga.
