JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Department of Education is investigating the circumstances that led to the deaths of three siblings at a primary school in Sebokeng.
It's understood the pupils, who were in grades 3, 4, and 5, appeared sick during school hours on Monday.
They told their teachers that they had eaten pap, milk, and biscuits at home.
Department spokesperson, Steve Mabona, said the children were taken to a nearby clinic, where they were declared dead.
"Class teacher brought a sick boy learner to the sick bay. Despite immediate assistance, the learner was unresponsive.
"In a distressing turn of events, the learner's sibling was also brought to the sick bay. A third sibling, a grade 5 girl learner, was also found to be unresponsive."
