Police in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) have arrested a 69-year-old doctor at his workplace in Madadeni, north of the province, on allegations of sexually assaulting four female patients at a local hospital.
According to police, the alleged crimes took place between August 2025 and April this year.
It's alleged that the man touched his victims inappropriately on their breasts and private parts and reportedly forced some of them to perform sexual acts on him.
The victims, police said, complained to a whistleblower who tipped off the police.
KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said the suspect is expected to appear in the Madadeni Magistrates Court on Friday.
"The FCS detectives operationalised the tip-offs, and after the victims opened cases, investigations unfolded, leading to the arrest of the suspect. Should other victims come forward with reports of sexual assault and open cases, more charges will be added."
