Hawks in Gauteng make more arrests for fraud and money laundering

The Hawks in Gauteng said that more arrests are expected after a 55-year-old man was charged for fraud and money laundering.
Through his company and associated entities Thomas Ndlovu fraudulently claimed over 50 million rand in VAT refunds from the revenue service in 2023.
The South African Revenue Service (SARS) said that its actual loss is more than R9 million.
On Thursday Ndlovu handed himself over to police and appeared in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court where he was released on bail.
The Hawks said that the investigation is continuing as more people have been identified as possible suspects.
