The Cape Town City Council will soon convene to consider a Home Affairs application to open an office at the Civic Centre.
The initiative aims to improve civic access to essential services and will operate on an appointment-only basis.
Corporate Services MMC Theresa Uys says Council will consider the application in March.
She adds that the proposed office will be ideally located near the city's transport hub.
"Once established, this dedicated Home Affairs Office will enhance service delivery by providing residents of Cape Town with streamlined, appointment-based access to key national government services within a centrally located city facility," says Uys.
