Police have opened a case of culpable homicide, with both drivers under investigation as forensic and mechanical probes continue.
At the cordoned-off scene, the mother stood numb, her grief raw and uncontainable, describing a home now silent, school uniforms that will never be worn again, and a life forever split into before and after.
She said justice, arrests or courtroom answers mean little when two of her children left for school and never came back.
“Both of my children, yoh… Lord God, what have I done to you? What have I done to you? Take me and leave my children - please return them.”
Police said four learners remain in hospital in serious condition, while post-mortem examinations are underway.
