The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) has announced that its psycho-social services will be running throughout the festive season.
This announcement follows the results of its recent "Festive Feelings Survey," which found that South Africans are reporting high levels of financial stress, loneliness, and family conflict.
The survey, which included over 2,000 participants, cited factors like grief, exhaustion, and burnout as significant dampeners ahead of the holidays.
Cassey Chambers, SADAG’s Operations Director, emphasised the importance of seeking assistance, stating that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.
"These findings remind us just how important empathy, support and accessible mental health care are during this period. You don't have to go through it alone."
