WC Crime Prevention gets R9 million boost for community safety

The Western Cape's Police Oversight and Community Safety Department has received a 9-million rand boost for crime prevention.
This was revealed by Finance MEC Deidre Baartman when she tabled her adjusted provincial budget for the new financial year on Thursday.
She said the total budgetary adjustment of R1.7 billion has been made to stabilise safety and health, and education in the province.
Baartman added that the adjustment is about strengthening essential services and maintaining stability in the Western Cape.
" By directing R1.7 billion to stabilise health and education, strengthen safety, and fast-track infrastructure delivery, the Western Cape's economy can keep moving forward and create more opportunities for our residents.
