Two people have been arrested in Masoyi in Mpumalanga.

This follows the recovery of a firearm that reportedly went missing during a shooting at a local tavern.

The suspects, aged 21 and 28, face charges of defeating the ends of justice and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

While investigations continue, it is alleged that the DJ was shot after he switched off the music as the tavern was closing.

Police said that the firearm will undergo ballistic testing to determine whether it may have been used in other criminal activities.

Investigations are set to continue and police say they have not ruled out the possibility of additional charges being added against the suspects.
