Senthumule was instructed to manage the 121 PKTT dockets after they were transferred to police headquarters in Pretoria.
Senthumule said the decision to disband the PKTT did not follow the correct procedures.
“It was business unusual where you just have a decision like that to say, ‘disband this structure’.”
She praised Crime Intelligence boss Dumisani Khumalo for his work with the PKTT.
“General Khumalo, actually in my assessment, established a one-stop shop where you get everything under one roof.”
She also took a jab at suspended Deputy National Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya.
“I won’t mention the general who went on TV and said, ‘the dockets are mine’ and I think that’s why we are where we are today. At national, we don’t own the dockets - the dockets belong to a province.”
Senthumule said suspended Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu was ill-advised in taking the decision to disband the PKTT.
