On Saturday, the older sister of MK Party Member of Parliament (MP) Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla opened a criminal case against her, accusing her of misleading the men into a dangerous situation.

The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party said the matter of 17 men who are in the front lines of the Russia-Ukraine war is a sensitive one that should be left to unfold legally.

On Saturday, the older sister of MK Party Member of Parliament (MP) Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla opened a criminal case against her, accusing her of misleading the men into a dangerous situation.

But Zuma-Sambudla has since opened her own case against a man she claims was the real recruiter.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has also ordered an investigation into the circumstances that led to the recruitment of the men, who are mainly from KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and the Eastern Cape.

MK Party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndlela: "By virtue of the fact that there's a case that's been opened, that's been investigated by the Hawks, I think it's always better to allow that process to unfold. Comrade Dudu has opened up a case of her own. I think she states categorically what has transpired..."
