The matric finals started on 21 October with Computer Applications Technology and have just ended with Agricultural Management Practices, Marine Sciences, and Music Comprehension.
In the Western Cape, learners have written 112 papers.
"The exam session has run smoothly this year thanks to the exceptional management by our officials and school staff. This is a massive administrative task and we appreciate the support that the public has shown during the exams."
Education MEC David Maynier said that more than 4,190 markers will now assess over 954,000 exam scripts at 12 marking centres across the province.
"The national matric results announcement will take place on Monday, the 12th of January 2026 and candidates will receive their results at their schools or on the WCED website on Tuesday, the 13th of January 2026."
