Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala wants his appearance before Parly ad hoc committee postponed

Attempted murder accused, Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala, seems to be getting cold feet and wants his appearance before the Parliament ad hoc committee this week postponed.

Matlala's lawyers, in a letter seen by EWN, said their client was not prepared for the appearance and requested additional time before giving evidence to the ad hoc committee investigating allegations of police corruption and intereference. 

Matlala is set to appear before the committee this week at the Kgosi Mampuru correctional facility in Pretoria where he's currently incarcerated. 

His lawyers say should they not receive a "response and written undertaking" from the committee chairperson Soviet Lekganyane's office by 3pm on Tuesday, they will proceed with an urgent application to have the evidence at this week's proceedings postponed, up until such time that they have properly consulted with Matlala.
