Close to 3,000 anti-gender-based violence supporters gathered at Sea Point Promenade on Friday to support Women for Change.
GBV survivor, Rudo Kawara, said that she joined the demonstration to give a voice to GBV victims.
"I watched my mother get beat up by my father. This is an ongoing thing in South Africa where women have to keep silent when they are being abused."

Kawara said that children were growing up traumatised watching their mothers and sisters getting killed.
The demonstrators were seen lying down on the grass at the promenade to mourn the 15 women who are murdered in the country every day.
