President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on South African companies to be part of setting the country and continent on a new economic path.
Ramaphosa met some leaders in the corporate sector in Sandton on Tuesday to strengthen ties between government and big business.

The meeting with big businesses is part of the president’s charm offensive to draw in more investment to grow the economy.
He said South African executives have a critical role to play in efforts to drive inclusive growth across our continent and the globe.
“Over many years, South African companies have become innovative and adaptive, skilfully navigating enormous challenges. These are capabilities that we should draw on as we broaden our horizons and explore new markets for trade and investment on our continent.”
But he admittedthere are still some stumbling blocks.
“In a complex and uncertain global economic environment, we need to strengthen the capacity of our economy to compete, to produce and to trade.”
