Co-accused Jacques Cronje was arrested in April 2020 for allegedly threatening a former state witness who can only be identified as "Vallie" during a debt collection on behalf of Modack.

Cronje was arrested in April 2020 for violating a protection order granted to attorney Booth who was "Vallie's" lawyer at the time.

State prosecutor Greg Wolmarans used cellphone evidence to show co-accused Zane Kilian started pinging booth shortly after Cronje's arrest.

"And we also saw booth's involvement that ultimately led to the arrest of your man Cronje on the second of April and then suddenly we see an explosion of pinging on booth." said Wolmarans.
