The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued an orange level 9 warning for disruptive rain in Gauteng and parts of Mpumalanga.
It has been predicted that the downpour may lead to widespread flooding and fast-flowing streams, posing a danger to communities in affected areas.
Forecaster Letlhogonolo Thobela said these conditions are expected to continue throughout the weekend
He added that people should exercise caution and take necessary precautions during these inclement conditions.
“We are issuing a weather warning update for disruptive rain that's expected to result in some flooding conditions over Gauteng as well as the high felt of Mpumalanga.”
