Madlanga Commission hears from ballistics expert regarding report on Armand Swart's murder

A ballistic expert from the South African Police Service (SAPS) is currently testifying before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
The inquiry was established to probe allegations of corruption in the criminal justice system.
Brigadier Mishak Mkhabela, who heads the SAPS’s ballistics section at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Silverton, Pretoria, is expected to provide evidence regarding the ballistic report linked to the 2023 murder of Vereeniging engineer, Armand Swart.
Mkhabela began his testimony on Monday morning by outlining his background and experience within the police service.
"Around 2014, I was brought back in Pretoria to head the integrated ballistics identification system section here in Silverton. Last year in January, I was promoted to the rank of brigadier and head of ballistics nationally."
