A 27-year-old police officer accused of rape in the North West has been granted R5,000 bail following an appearance at the Phokeng Magistrate's Court.
The officer is accused of raping a 31-year-old woman whom he was purportedly assisting with a domestic dispute involving her partner at the Phokeng police station.

The victim and her partner are both foreign nationals. Suping provided further details regarding the allegation:
“The boyfriend was requested to bring his passport to the police station as they (the couple) are both foreign nationals.
