Screengrabs of CCTV footage showing the vehicles used by those allegedly involved in the murder of Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart, have been presented as evidence at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
Witness "A" a member of Gauteng's Organised Crime Unit, presented the evidence on Monday morning, while testifying partially in-camera.
Due to risks posed to his safety, Witness "A" is currently testifying from a safe house at an undisclosed location with his voice being broadcast but his face not shown.
He described how a Hyundai I20 was used by the suspects to follow Swart to his offices in Vereeniging on the morning of 17 April last year.
Swart was shot 23 times in a case of mistaken identity being linked to Transnet fraud.
"We found a bag that loaded with three firearms, one of which was a rifle, and two were pistols and a lot of ammunition."
He said that the same I20 was seen with a Mercedes Benz, scouting the same street about four hours before Swart was murdered.
"Two vehicles were seen on the CCTV cameras and one of those vehicles was a Hyundai, which was recovered. And we were told that this vehicle was driving around the crime scene making turns with a Mercedes Benz that was later recovered."
