ANC resolves to establish economic war room within the presidency

In an effort to monitor government's plans to improve the economy, the African National Congress (ANC) has proposed the establishment of a war room within the presidency.
The ANC's National Executive Committee (NEC) met in Boksburg over the past three days to discuss the country's struggling economy.
The party has established what it calls a ten-point economic action plan, which aims to drive economic growth in the near future.

Delivering the closing address at the NEC meeting on Monday, ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa said the economic war room will come in handy to ensure plans are implemented.
"The NEC resolved that an Economic War Room be established in the Presidency to coordinate cross-government performance monitoring and publish regular scorecards on progress. Fundamental to the success of these efforts is sound institutional governance."
