More than 100 people waving Palestinian flags, dressed in red, green, black, and white, were chanting outside the US Consulate.
"We are outside the US Consulate because America is a key funder of the genocide. It is a key funder of the role to play in stopping the genocide," said one of the protest leaders, Sunny Morgan.
The protest is one of a few taking place across the country including one outside the Israeli embassy in Pretoria and Parliament in Cape Town.
