SANParks says about 25 hectares of vegetation was scorched by a wildfire on the slopes of the Twelve Apostles mountain range in Camps Bay.
Firefighters battled the blaze overnight and managed to contain the fire early on Tuesday morning.
A helicopter was flown in from George to water bomb the blaze until sunset on Monday.
The cause of the fire is now being investigated.
SANParks spokesperson Charles Phahlane said a fresh team of 50 firefighters was deployed on Tuesday morning to ensure flare-ups were attended to.
Phahlane said thermal drones were being used to detect any underground hotspots and hiking trails in the area would stay closed.
"As a precaution, the following trails and access points will remain closed until further notice: footpaths and jeep tracks to Camps Bay, Pipe Track, Theresa Avenue and Geneva Avenue, all footpaths accessing Camps Bay from back Table and Apostle Battery, trails above the Twelve Apostles."
Phahlane said firefighters would remain on the fire line due to a high fire danger index related to a hot weather warning in the Western Cape on Tuesday.
