It’s been more than two years since South Africa witnessed the dramatic return of Bester and Magudumana to the country after escaping and fleeing to Tanzania.

But the trial into the incident is yet to begin.

In the last appearance in July, charges were dropped against G4S employee Motanyane Masukela.

The matter was postponed to Friday morning for pre-trial, and an update is set to be heard from all the accused on their readiness for trial.

The court is also likely to hear details of Magudumana' Constitutional Court bid, where she plans to challenge her deportation.
