JOHANNESBURG - Late journalist Tshidi Madia has been remembered as a passionate professional with an unwavering love for her craft, and a generous spirit that touched many.
A memorial service was held at her family home in Germiston yesterday, where colleagues, friends, and loved ones gathered to pay tribute.
The gathering was not only a moment of mourning, but also one of reflection and unity, drawing strength from the community Tshidi helped build throughout her career.
Speakers described her as a formidable journalist who carried her family name with pride and integrity.
Among them was former colleague Sbu Ngalwa, who described Madia as a one-of-a-kind journalist and human being - someone who lit up every room she entered.
"When we launched her podcast, I remember there was a discussion about how we should describe it. We settled on three words: feisty, fun, and fiery — and we felt those were the words that best captured who Tshidi was."
