Although court rulings have so far favoured King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, some family members, including Prince Thokozani Zulu, insist he is not the rightful heir.
Prince Thokozani is a key supporter of Prince Simakade , who is considered the main rival to Misuzulu.
While he remains opposed to Misuzulu’s rule, Prince Thokozani said the time has come to seek common ground.
“We are concerned about the fact that the other side has not committed to a resolution, a mutual resolution that we have to sit down and engage. It is a serious concern for us.”
The prince said the current leadership is not what’s best for the Zulu nation.
“We are of the firm view that whatever they represent is not in the best interest not only of the Zulu national, but also the royal family.”
King Misuzulu’s supporters have repeatedly said there is no dispute and that he is the only recognised king.
