CAPE TOWN - Police have arrested a man found in possession of a firearm used in a deadly gang-related shooting in Kraaifontein.
An 11-year-old girl was shot and killed, while an eight-year-old girl and a man were injured in the gun attack in Wallacedene on Tuesday.
The police's Frederick van Wyk: "On Wednesday morning, the members received information about the firearm used in this incident was stored on a premises in Mapongwana Street in Wallacedene. The members searched the identified premises, where they confiscated a 9mm pistol with the serial number removed and eleven rounds of ammunition. A 26-year-old man was arrested."
Van Wyk said the suspect is expected to appear in the Bluedowns Magistrate's Court once charged.
