CAPE TOWN - The survivors of the George building collapse are expecting those responsible for the tragedy to be held liable.
32 construction workers lost their lives, and 28 others survived when a five-storey building collapsed at 75 Victoria Road in May last year.
A closed meeting called by Public Works Minister Dean Macpherson is underway at the Protea Hotel in George.
Vuyokazi Singama who was trapped for two days under 6 thousand tonnes of rubble spoke to Eyewitness News just before the meeting.
"We suffered so much for what happened to us and we need answers. We hope just hope that today we will get those answers." said Singama.
The Minister is expected to share contents of a report from the Council for the Built Environment which probed the conduct of engineers on site and detail what action should be taken against them.
