JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) is appealing to residents of Seshego in Limpopo to give the party another chance at the upcoming by-elections.
The party has been on the campaign trail for tomorrow’s by-election for Polokwane’s ward 13 seat.
Since 2016, the seat has been consistently won by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
However, the red berets’ councillor Mafiwa Leballo was expelled by the council for non-attendance, triggering a by-election.
ANC Limpopo secretary, Reuben Madadzhe, said the party understands why residents have been unhappy with it.
"It was the issue of water, scarcity of water in the entire township and also the issue of Juju Valley, which was not being serviced. They didn’t have roads, proper sanitation, etc. We have since turned things around. The issue of water now is no longer a big issue as we were able to resolve it."
