Western Cape braces for another storm over the weekend
A yellow level four warning for disruptive rainfall has been issued by the South African Weather Service (SAWS).
CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape is bracing itself for another storm this weekend, with heavy rain predicted from Friday to Sunday.
A yellow level four warning for disruptive rainfall has been issued by the South African Weather Service (SAWS).
This happens as relief efforts are still underway after two days of torrential rain last week left informal settlements across the Western Cape severely impacted.
The City of Cape Town's Disaster Risk Management Centre said it was preparing for the frontal system, which could cause more flooding.
The centre's spokesperson, Sonica Lategan, "The Disaster Risk Management Centre will once again coordinate the city's response to any impacts brought about by the forecast. We have also alerted our NGO [non-governmental organisations] partners, who will provide humanitarian assistance where needed. We ask that residents please address any issues on their properties to mitigate the risk of localised flooding."
