At least 5 suspects arrested during multi-disciplinary operation in KZN

At least five suspects have been arrested during an ongoing multi-disciplinary operation on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal.
Various police units and other law enforcement agencies have braved the cold weather in pursuit of suspected criminals.
Roadblocks have resulted in unroadworthy vehicles being impounded and drugs being confiscated.
A total of five people were arrested for various criminal charges in the operations.
Police say two suspects were found with firearms, while two others who were wanted on charges of rape were caught and an illegal foreign national was charged with possession of drugs.
Acting Provincial Commissioner Phumelele Makhoba urged police to leave no stone unturned in their quest to root out crime.
"I want each and every one of you to make the few hours count, how so? Make it count, let the community of UGU in all areas where you are going to feel your presence."
Officers will continue with raids into the evening.
