JOHANNESBURG - Twelve South African National Defence Force (SANDF) members are back at the Randburg Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning on charges of murder and kidnapping.
The group was arrested in June in connection with the murder of Hawks investigator Frans Mathipa almost two years ago.
Mathipa was shot in 2023 while driving on the N1 near Hammanskraal.
At the time, he was investigating the alleged involvement of the SANDF Special Armed Forces in the abduction of two foreign nationals at the Mall of Africa a few months earlier.
The 12 SANDF members are expected to apply for bail.
