JOHANNESBURG - The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) says it will investigate an alleged racist incident on a FlySafair flight in 2024.
In a video that went viral on social media, an SABC employee, Nobuntu Mkhize, was seen embroiled in a scuffle with cabin crew and allegedly made derogatory statements towards the flight attendants.

The public broadcaster and the African National Congress (ANC) have since distanced themselves from Mkhize after she declared her affiliation with the two organisations.
The festive season was void of cheer and instead brought trouble for Mkhize.
Those woes have followed the embattled brand manager into 2025.
In the latest series of blows, the SAHRC has announced that its Western Cape office will also investigate her conduct on the FlySafair flight.
The Chapter 9 institution joins other organisations that have expressed concern over Mkhize’s actions and the persistence of racial incidents in the country.
It has called on passengers who were aboard the flight to share information to assist in the investigation.
