JOHANNESBURG - Former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) national spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has resigned as a member of Parliament for the party.

The EFF has announced it received voluntary resignations from Ndlozi and Yazini Tetyana to step down from their roles in the National Assembly.

The EFF says it has accepted the resignations of the two members who will be redeployed somewhere else.

When the EFF contested its first-ever election in 2014, Ndlozi was one of the first cohort of members to represent the party in Parliament.

He has kept his parliamentary seat for two successive general elections, 2019 and 2024.

However, the relationship between Ndlozi and the EFF recently soured.

This comes hot on the heels of reports that he wanted to contest for the party’s deputy president role at its third national elective conference.

However, Ndlozi was absent throughout the EFF’s conference held at the Nasrec Expo Centre last year - with the party denying claims he had been barred from attending.

Ndlozi was also not re-elected to the EFF’s Central Command Team - the party’s highest decision-making body in between conferences.
