JOHANNESBURG - Senior African National Congress (ANC) Gauteng member Lebogang Maile said the party’s Secretary General (SG), Fikile Mbalula, was not referring to him when he spoke about ill-discipline within the organisation.

On Sunday, at around 2am, Maile posted on social media platform X about people who seek to destroy the ANC intentionally.
Speaking at a media briefing on Tuesday, Maile said Mbalula’s comments were not directed at him.
“The SG of the ANC is correct to talk about discipline. There must be discipline. What kind of organisation doesn’t have discipline? There shouldn’t be any member of the ANC who speaks out of turn, who contradicts the policies of the ANC, [and the] code of conduct of the ANC.”
