Beachgoers arrested for attacking lifeguards
A group of unruly beachgoers attacked the lifeguards at a beach in Durban over the weekend.

On Saturday, a group of men attacked the lifeguards and metro police on duty at a Durban beach.
All six attackers were arrested.

Sewduth says there were thousands of people on the beach, many of whom were overriding safety measures put in place.

In this case, he says the lifeguards had reportedly asked the group to respect the rules.
They refused and lashed out, attacking the lifeguards.
